Els aucells de les balears
Trad: Birds of Balearic Islands

This book, the first edition of which dates back to 1979, is an introduction to the knowledge of the avifauna of the Balearic Islands, with a detailed description of the most important species, their biology and, very especially, their conservation, with excellent drawings or photographs of each of them and a selection of the most characteristic songs (with QR codes).
It includes a complete list of the 388 species observed in the archipelago since 1900 and several appendices on migration, protection or popular nomenclature. The contents have been exhaustively revised and updated by its author in what constitutes, in fact, a work different from the original, which was written with youthful enthusiasm and has now been rewritten with the solvency of maturity.

For my part, it has been a pleasure to contribute the photographs that illustrate this publication, along with the drawings of two artists, Aina Bonner and Cati Artigues.
Precisely the first edition of this book, back in 1979, was an important part of the fuel that lit the flame of admiration for birds in particular and for nature in general in me. And the fact that this new edition of the book presents my photographs represents a pride and an intense satisfaction.
